About Middle States
Dear Campus Community:
The University is engaged in the process of reaffirmation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The Evaluation Team Visit is scheduled to occur February 11-14, 2018. The visit will be chaired by Dr. Carl S. Person, a public member of the Commission and leader in higher education.
The Middle States Steering Committee, comprised of faculty, staff, students, administrators, members of the University System of Maryland Board of Regents, and other key stakeholders, is guiding the campus community through the self-study process. The findings and recommendations from the self-study report will help us identify strengths and challenges that will keep us on a positive trajectory of continuous improvement. More importantly, the University will be able to maintain its status as a regionally-accredited institution and strengthen its mission of supplying the workforce with well-prepared graduates who meet the competitive demands of the global marketplace.
You may continue to support the University in the following manner:
- Provide assistance to Middle States Steering Committee members who may request reports, data, documents, other materials, or interviews that provide evidence that the Standards of Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation are being met;
- Review the related documents on this site and ask yourself how you might become involved in submitting information beneficial to the process; and
- Volunteer your service and expertise as plans are finalized for the 2018 evaluation visit.
Please forward any comments and questions to the co-chairs or the accreditation liaison. We look forward to your comments and are glad you are a part of the self-study process.
Sincerely,
Michael Bowden
Assistant Vice President for Planning & Assessment and Accreditation Liaison Officer
