Microsoft Office 365 on Your Personal Device

Current students, faculty, and staff can download, install, and use Microsoft Office 365 Pro Plus for free on personal devices. Microsoft Office comes with:

• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Excel
• PowerPoint
• Outlook
• OneNote
• Publisher
• Access
• OneDrive for Business

What to Know Before Installing

• You must uninstall older versions of Office (Office 20XX) before you install Office 365.
• You must be continuously registered and/or employed at Coppin for Office to continue working.
  • Office 365 will no longer work when you end employment and/or enrollment at Coppin.
• You will need a stable internet connection to download installation files.

These directions only apply to Office 365 as provided by Coppin. If you purchase your own license for Office 365, do not use your Coppin email address for your personal Office 365 subscription.

How to Install on a PC

1. Sign in to Coppin's Office 365 account using your Coppin email and password.

2. The site will redirect you to the Coppin login page.

3. Once you're signed in, select Install Office > Office 365 apps. Note: the button may be a different color if you selected a theme other than the default.

4. Select the installation option that pops up within your browser:

• In Internet Explorer, select Run
• In Google Chrome, select Setup
• In Firefox, select Save File
• In Firefox, after the file finishes downloading, go to your downloads folder, then double click the .exe file to open, then select OK.

5. To let the changes apply to your computer, click Yes when prompted. Office will begin downloading. Although the download process takes a bit of time you will be able to access and run programs about 5 minutes after you begin. Follow the prompts through to the end and click Finish.

6. Activate Microsoft Office

• Open an Office app, like Word
• When the Office app opens, accept the license agreement. Office is activated and ready to use.

How to Install on a Mac

1. Sign in to Coppin's Office 365 account using your Coppin email and password.

2. The site will redirect you to the Coppin login page.

3. Enter your Coppin email address and password.

4. Once you're signed in, select Install Office > Office 365 apps. Note: the button may be a different color if you selected a theme other than the default.

5. Click save file button

6. Open Downloads folder and double click on MS Office 2019 Installer package.

7. Click "Continue" button

8. Click Continue again and then Agree to the terms of the software license.

9. Click the Install button.

10. Enter your computer's password and then click the Install Software button.

11. Click the Close button when the installation is complete.

12. Activate Office

• Open an Office app, like Word
• When the Office app opens, accept the license agreement. Office is activated and ready to use.
