Dr. Yi Huang is the founding Executive Director of the Center for Inclusive Excellence. She has served as an executive officer, educator, and administrator with rich experiences in building internal capacities and external networks through collaborative partnerships and innovative program engineering. Dr. Huang’s research portfolio consists of over $25 million in combined cash and match funding from state, federal, and private agencies, including multiple large-scale federal grants (Huang, 2016-2022, 2019-2024, 2022-2025, 2022-2027) awarded by the United States Department of Education. As a distinguished research professor, she leads the development of the Pathways to Professions (P2P) MicroCredentials and MicroResidencies implemented across Maryland; and serves as the principal investigator for the innovative Stackable Credentials inaugurated in Fall 2023. Dr. Huang is the recipient of the Dr. Jeannette W. Shamwell Award for Distinguished Service to the School of Education granted by Coppin State University, and the Elkins Professorship for Academic Transformation awarded by the University System of Maryland. Dr. Huang is the editor and contributing author of the 2022 volume entitled Credential Innovations for Inclusive Pathways to Professions.
