Cari Bland received her Master's in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and her Bachelors of Art (B.A) degree in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University with minors in African American Studies and Human Services. Ms. Bland has previous clinical experience in in-home counseling, therapeutic group home management, foster care case management and out-patient therapy for clients navigating various challenges such as trauma, life transitions, adjustment, anxiety, stress and depression. Her approach to therapy is relational and integrative, incorporating culturally responsive techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, art therapy and holistic wellness practices. Most importantly, Ms. Bland is intentional in working to foster a brave space between her and her clients to address life challenges in a safe, relatable and goal-oriented way.
During her leisure time, Ms. Bland enjoys day spas, tennis, aerial yoga, playing with her fur-baby and listening to her favorite 90’s R&B music.
